This grand National Park covers practically the entire area of Gasa Dzongkhag, western parts of Paro, Thimphu and also Punakha. The diversity of the habitats in the park area is really extraordinary.

It ranges from the subtropical area of 1400m to the stunning alpine heights of 7000m. The major attractions of the Jigme Dorji National Park are the awesome trekking routes. This very park is a haven for the bird watchers and bird-lovers. There are at least 300 species of birds in Jigme Dorji National Park. During the proper season loads of tourists go through the trekking routes of this park. The natural beauty of the trekking routes is really stunning.

Another great attraction of Bhutan is the Royal Manas National Park. It is located at the southern part of the central Bhutan. This very National Park is adjoined with the Jigme Singye Wangchuck National Park, Manas National Park of India and also Manas Tiger Reserve. Earlier this place was a wildlife sanctuary. But in the year 1988 it was turned into a National Park. Different animals like gaurs, leopards, tigers, rhinos, buffalos, elephants, wild dogs, many species of deer and bears are found here.

Here one can spot out the golden langur and capped langur. There are at least 350 species of birds in this park. Both these national parks are most interesting areas for the researchers, ecologists, botanists and scientists. One can easily stay at Paro or Thimphu to visit these two parks.
