The Pi Sigma Alpha Washington Internship Scholarships are awarded to four students each year who are participating in an internship program in D.C.

Here are the five best political science scholarships that you may want to apply for in order to get substantial funding for your education with potential perks, like gaining an internship in D.C.

1. Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship

The Enid Hall Griswold Memorial Scholarship is awarded to an economics, political science, history or government major at any accredited college or university in the U.S. In order to be eligible, students must be in their junior or senior year of school. This is a one-time, non-renewable $1,000 scholarship award provided by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR).

2. George Washington Crossing Foundation National Scholarship Competition

It’s not often that you find scholarships for which high school seniors can apply. If you’re still in high school and you want use a political science degree to pursue a government service career, then you should definitely apply for the George Washington Crossing Foundation (GWCF) National Scholarship Competition. This is an essay contest where students are asked to explain why they want to pursue this career path. The amount of the scholarships varies each year, but all recipients get an all-expenses-paid trip to the GWCF Scholarship Awards Ceremony in Pennsylvania.

3. American Political Science Association Congressional Fellowship Program

Described as “the nation’s oldest and most prestigious congressional fellowship,” the American Political Science Association (APSA) Congressional Fellowship Program has been around since 1953. Ph.D. political science students with an interest in Congress are encouraged to apply to get a hands-on, in-depth experience by serving on congressional staffs. In addition, the fellows also have the opportunity to attend interesting seminars on topics like foreign affairs and the legislative process.

4. Howard Penniman Scholarships for Graduate Study

The National Political Science Honor Society (Pi Sigma Alpha) offers a special scholarship for their members who plan to attend graduate school to get a master’s degree in political science. The Howard Penniman Scholarships for Graduate Study is awarded to five students each year, each with a value of $2,000. To apply, students must be nominated by their chapter advisor and submit a statement about his or her career goals and involvement in the local chapter.

5. Pi Sigma Alpha Washington Internship Scholarships

If you’re a poli-sci major, you may have considered applying for an internship in Washington, D.C. Fortunately, there’s a scholarship opportunity which may be a perfect fit for you. The Pi Sigma Alpha Washington Internship Scholarships are awarded to four students each year who are participating in an internship program in D.C. At leastone of these scholarships goes to student participating in The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars (TWC) program. Each of the scholarships is $2,000, with an extra $2,500 given to any winner in the TWC program.
