Future architects can get some much-needed funding for their education through the a/e ProNet David W. Lakamp AIA Scholarship.

Architecture is a field that’s perfect for students who understand logic, have an interest in engineering, but are also a creative. Many architecture students are detail-oriented and good at research. Fortunately, this combination of skills works for scholarship applications too. Architecture students can dedicate themselves to researching scholarship opportunities and following guidelines while also showing creativity in their applications.

Check out these four architecture scholarship opportunities for an idea of what kind of funding is available to help you earn an architecture degree, which costs $22,900 on average to obtain.

1. American Concrete Institute Foundation Richard D. Stehly Memorial Scholarship

If you’re working toward your bachelor’s degree in architecture, then check out the ACI Foundation Richard D. Stehly Memorial Scholarship. Offered by the American Concrete Institute (ACI), this $3,000 scholarship will help fund the education of a student who is studying the area of concrete such as materials, construction and structural design. Full-time architecture students are welcome to apply by submitting a resume, letters of reference, transcripts and a short essay.

2. a/e ProNet David W. Lakamp AIA Scholarship

Future architects can get some much-needed funding for their education through the a/e ProNet David W. Lakamp AIA Scholarship. This scholarship program, which was established in 1990 by a/e ProNet, is available to fourth-year undergraduates and graduate architecture students at a school accredited by the National Architecture Accrediting Board (NAAB). Two winners are selected annually, with each receiving a $2,500 award to go toward tuition and fees.

Application deadline: November 19

3. American Institute of Architects Corporate Architects and Facility Management Scholarship

Awarded by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the AIA Corporate Architects and Facility Management Scholarship is available to students working toward their bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture. In addition to a letter of recommendation, a transcript and a resume, each applicant must also submit an essay on a topic concerning corporate architecture. The program awards two $2,000 scholarships each year.

Application deadline: March 23

4. American Concrete Institute Foundation Fellowship

Do you need substantial funding for your architecture education? If so, consider applying for an ACI Foundation Fellowship. Eight awards are given each year, with the potential to renew the award for up to two years. In addition to a $7,000-$10,000 educational stipend, winners also receive assistance for finding mentors an internships as well as paid expenses to attend two ACI conventions. To apply, students must be nominated by a faculty member at their college or university.
