Overall

it is a very small school and you must like small town living to like it here. there is a beautiful landscape around alpine and a wonderful heritage.i like it here because you get to know everyone and the small class sizes.

Academics

the classes are small and very personal. the professors know if you miss class and care if you do. they also are willing to help you if you need it and are easy to find to get help. the reason i came to sul ross was for its wonderful NRM program.

College Life

at sul ross you can find a club for anything and if you cant you can make it very easily. there are few clubs in the town but eeryone goes there so it is fun because you will always know someone. the only down fall is the small town can get boring and you ahver to make your own fun alot of the time.

Overall

Great if you like small classes and getting to know your professors in a casual atmosphere. I liked the easy going attitude, typically friendly staff and students; there's a good mix of young and old, US and international students.

Academics

There were some excellent, probably overqualified professors. Workload was probably average or easier than prestigious universities. Class size was sometimes 10 or 15 students. I had a psychology professor who had 30 years of clinical experience and a library of humor to go with it. His name was Hirsch. Great flexibility for students who want to take an independent study option and focus on personal interests - possibility of one on one learning with a professor.

College Life

Small town, quiet atmosphere, Hispanic culture; long way to travel to big cities. Alpine is a unique place both geographically and socially. Lots of things to do if you'd like to join the archaeology club.
