About Carlow University
While it’s not a large school by any means, Carlow University’s greatest strength is perhaps its size. With a small enrollment and a student-to-faculty ratio, Carlow ensures quality instruction and individualized attention.
Despite its small size, Carlow offers a wide range of academics. There are over 50 undergraduate majors available through its two colleges, administered through the following divisions and schools:
- Division of Humanities
- Division of Natural Sciences and Mathematics
- School for Social Change
- School of Management
- School of Nursing
- School of Education
The university also offers master’s degrees in subjects like Psychology, Business, Nursing, Education and Creative Writing.
As a Catholic university, Carlow is committed to the Catholic intellectual tradition. Its religious affiliation also has an impact on student life. The Department of Campus Ministry gives students several opportunities for prayer and worship, as well as community service events like Alternative Spring Break.
Carlow University’s financial aid includes a variety of scholarships and grants. The school awards merit scholarships to incoming freshmen and transfers based on high school GPA and SAT scores. Eligible students can also apply for need-based and endowed scholarships, such as the Carlow Grant.
