About MSU

Minot State University is a public university located in Minot, North Dakota, offering quality higher education opportunities and attracting students from all over the state.

Bachelor’s degrees are offered in almost every traditional major. Freshmen are encouraged to take advantage of Minot’s First-Year Experience program, which offers learning community courses and exposure to mentors and services on campus.

Graduate programs range from master’s and doctorate degrees to post-graduate certificates. Master’s degrees are offered in Communication Disorders, Criminal Justice, Education, Management, Music Education, Special Education, Information Systems, and a few more. A doctorate is offered in Criminal Justice while certificates are offered in a few concentrations, including Management.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of various scholarship opportunities, the honors program, and study abroad options.

Student life activities are a vibrant escape from academic responsibility. Students are able to enjoy various student organizations, residential housing, a fitness center, a health clinic, intramural sports, athletic teams, community service projects, and much more.
