About NECO
The New England College of Optometry (NECO) is one of the nation’s oldest optometry schools, featuring accelerated degree programs and rigorous academics.
The following national and international programs are available at NECO:
- Accelerated Doctor of Optometry
- Advanced Standing International Program
- Doctor of Optometry
- Dual MS and OD China Curriculum
- Graduate offerings (i.e. standalone MS in Vision Science)
The school is dedicated to providing its students with an educational experience that combines classroom learning and hands-on clinical work. Within the first week of their programs, students already get the chance to interact with patients. And, after a few months, they can start doing visual screenings.
Outside of the classroom, there are opportunities for students to get involved in college life through on-campus organizations (clubs, fraternities, etc.). There are also many social and recreational activities in nearby Boston in which they can participate.
Those who meet the pre-requisites for academics are encouraged to apply for admissions to NECO. There is an application fee to apply, and all applicants are required to complete a personal interview with school staff.
Tuition rates vary between accelerated, international, and regular degrees. NECO financial aid awards are offered to qualifying students who need help with tuition payments.
