About Corcoran College of Art + Design

A highly respected institute in the field of fine art, Corcoran College of Art and Design has in its possession one of the most impressive American art collections in the world.

Located in Washington D.C., Corcoran is also surrounded by some of the world’s most highly regarded arts and cultural offerings, including 65 museums and other cultural organizations.

At Corcoran College, students may pursue bachelor’s degrees in Fine Art, Graphic Design, Photojournalism, Art Studies and Digital Media and Design, among others. Master’s degrees are also offered in such specialized fields as Art Education, Exhibition Design, New Media Photojournalism and Art and the Book. An associate’s degree program is also available, as are continuing education options.

In addition to classroom and studio work, students participate in exhibits and work closely with leaders in the field.

Student life helps to further cultivate the skills and creativity developed in Corcoran’s degree programs. Student organizations include those dedicated to Interior Design Majors, Book Artists, aspiring Art Educators and future Graphic Designers.

In addition to standard admissions requirements such as transcripts, a personal essay, letters of recommendation and SAT scores, Corcoran does require the submission of one’s portfolio.

Eligible Corcoran College of Art and Design students may receive an institutional scholarship and/or federal grant. Other forms of financial aid, such as loans, may also be available.
