About Hawaii CC
The only community college in Hilo, Hawaii, Hawaii Community College provides excellent opportunities for second-language learners as well as those who wish to get career training in a short amount of time or transfer to a four-year school, such as the nearby University of Hawaii.
The Applied Technical Education Division grants certifications and two-year degrees in fields like Auto Body Repair, Carpentry, Electronics Technology and Welding. The Hospitality Department trains those who wish to work in Food Service or Hospitality and Tourism, while the Allied Health division offers professional training for numerous medical careers.
Students who wish to transfer to University of Hawaii or another four-year school may save tuition costs by spending the first two years of their bachelor’s degree at Hawaii Community College. Academics for future transfer students include Liberal Arts, Business, Humanities and Science majors.
