About LHUP
As the website reads, Lock Haven University in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania offers a “small college lifestyle” and a “big university education.”
Lock Haven offers more than 60 undergraduate degrees in standard subject areas such as Accounting, Computer Science, Nursing, Business Administration, Secondary Education and Social Work. Pre-professional programs include those leading to advanced degrees in physical therapy and veterinary science, among others.
Lock Haven also offers more specialized programs in such areas as Athletic Training Nanotechnology, Recreation Management and Sports Administration. Lock Haven’s liberal and fine arts oriented programs include Music, Psychology, Sociology and Theatre.
Graduate degrees at Lock Haven include several leading to careers in teaching as well as a physician’s assistant degree.
Lock Haven’s rich offerings also extend into the more than 120 clubs and organizations housed on campus. These include everything from the Latino Student Union, a gospel choir, drama and art clubs and student-run publications and radio, and television stations.
Student services are also plentiful and wide-reaching. The Office of Human and Cultural Diversity offers programs that provide students with any additional support they need to improve academics and build confidence and leadership skills.
Lock Haven’s financial aid awards include full and partial tuition scholarships as well as grants and loans for eligible students.
Students who wish to experience all that Lock Haven has to offer may wish to live on campus in one of Lock Haven’t seven dormitories or in its apartment-style residences.

Overall RatingLock Haven is a beautiful school with an amazing campus, stunning landscape, great teachers, and superior academics. I've only visited twice, but it's enough to make me come back for four years. This university is a crown jewel in Pennsylvania, ranked in my standards next to Pittsburgh University. Anyone not sure of where to go to college should definitely check out Lock Haven; it's a decision you will not regret!
