About OSU
Located 90 miles south of Portland, Oregon State University provides the feel of a small, safe city, with the opportunities of its surrounding beauty and big-town life. Near the Casacades and the Pacific Coast, OSU students pursue their education from a leading research campus dedicated to natural wonders and history.
One of the only U.S. universities to have a Sea Grant, Space Grant and Land Grant, Oregon State offers its students over 200 undergraduate programs and 100 graduate programs. It is also home to one of the few degree-granting honors programs in the country.
Academics are diverse with an emphasis on research and the natural world. Students can pursue degrees in areas like Forestry, Zoology, and Nuclear Engineering.
There is no set standard for admissions requirements. OSU believes in reviewing strength of curriculum, academic performance, and insight to understand applicants as a whole rather than a set of grades. Simply displaying high academic achievements does not necessarily guarantee admission, but eligible students often maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher during their high school career.
The university offers over 300 clubs and activities for student life. It also hosts an active Greek life, as well as theater and music scene. Oregon State hosts multiple events such as lectures, cultural programs and concerts each year, many open to the public.
As an accredited state school, OSU can accept financial aid at the federal and state level from eligible students. The school also offers a number of its own scholarships based on various requirements.
