Student at This School - Grad Year 2014

Overall Rating

Coming into Lubbock for the first time was a very disappointing time. The campus is very beautiful, but the area surrounding it is completely different. The housing is more expensive than what it is worth (on and off campus). The entire city is based around the college, which is a pro and a con. The housing areas surrounding the school are mostly very old and trashy. Lubbock was named, by Forbes, one of the top ten most dangerous cites in America a few years back. The best thing about Texas Tech is the feeling of belonging to something important. Whatever you decide to get involved with becomes your family, and it is a fantastic experience that you will cherish. Lubbock is not for everyone, it is not a place you would want to live in after graduation, but it is a city that is involved and for the students.
