About OLOL

Our Lady of the Lake College (OLOL) in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, embodies the Franciscan Catholic commitment to service.

OLOL academics primarily consist of service-oriented professions and students regularly engage in volunteer work and other types of civic engagement. This attitude of compassionate service is, also reflected in the school’s commitment to its students.

OLOL was one of the first Catholic nursing schools in Louisiana. In its 100 years of existence, it has grown to include other healthcare degrees, as well as several humanities majors. Academics include bachelor’s, master’s and associate’s degrees in:

  • Clinical Laboratory Science
  • Health Service Administration
  • Nursing
  • Physical Therapy Assisting
  • Radiologic Technology
  • Surgical Technology
  • English
  • Religious Studies

While they prepare for service-oriented professions, students also do service-oriented activities like:

  • Health advocacy and education

The school’s faculty and support staff also extend this high level of service to its students. Faculty members work closely with students, both in and outside of class. The counseling center also offers services to assist students with a range of issues and matters including:

Admissions requirements vary, depending on the degree and program of study. General undergraduate admissions requirements include completion of a college preparatory curriculum, a GPA of at least 2.5 or a minimum GED score of 500. Applicants should also have at least a 20 composite score on the SAT or a total SAT score of 950.
