About HMC
There are many great reasons to attend a liberal arts college, including small class sizes, individualized attention, and great undergraduate academics. But many liberal arts colleges tend to focus more on the humanities, which can be frustrating to science students.
Harvey Mudd provides a solution to this dilemma. While it offers courses in the humanities, Harvey Mudd College’s academics are geared toward students of math and science. The private liberal arts college offers bachelor’s degrees in the following subjects:
*Biology
*Chemistry
*Computer Science
*Engineering
*Mathematics
*Physics
There are also joint-degree programs available to those interested in multiple subjects. For example, the Mathematical and Computational Biology Major combines the math, computer science, and biology departments.
Student life at Harvey Mudd provides great networking opportunities. The school is a member of many professional societies such as the American Chemical Society (of which all chemistry majors are automatically members). There are also a variety of student organizations including multicultural clubs, musical ensembles, and sports teams.
Eligible Harvey Mudd students may receive financial aid, which includes Title IV programs and institutional scholarships. The college awards scholarships based on both merit and need.
