Overall

I have only recently committed to Penn State Abington as a transfer student for this upcoming semester. So far, I love the campus and the environment. It has the small school feel, while still being connected to a large worldwide campus. The people on campus have only been friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend applying early! Application processing and review takes a while.

Academics

I have not begun any classes yet, however I recognized one of the professors from my previous educational institution. She was very welcoming and showed me the materials for her education courses. It seemed like a lot of work, but it was all worthwhile. I felt as though if I were in her class, I would be learning things that I could apply in reality. I do not think I will be doing "busy-work" while at this school. The professors seem committed to preparing students as best as possible.

College Life

I have not begun attending this school yet. I have seen an extensive list of clubs- many of which seem interesting. This is a commuter campus, so I have heard they hose many evening and weekend activities to strengthen the campus bond. The social atmosphere seems very welcoming and friendly. Everyone I have spoken to is extremely nice. I have received a few campus safety reports, and it seems as though safety is a top priority.

Overall

Everyone is extremely kind and considerate, possibly because of how diverse of a campus PSU abington is. People are approachable, friendly and helpful. It is not very difficult to make friends at school. Because it is a commuter campus the atmosphere is not the same as other college campuses. It is not the kind of place student come to party and the general mind set of students is one of focus towards classes. Do not misunderstand of course students have an active social life, but by no means could you call Abington a party school. Academics

One thing to consider when thinking about a school in terms of academics is, "will classes be taught by a professor or will they be taught by a teaching assistant." For most undergraduate students a nice chunk of classes will be taught by a "T.A." At Abington all classes are taught by a professor who is genuinely interested in teaching undergraduate students. The class sizes at Abington are awesome, generally classes are around 30 to 40 kids, at most you will have 120 in a big lecture, which compared to other institutions is virtually nothing. On top of the classes being small the workload is rarely overbearing unless you allow it be. Obvious if you take 4 classes it will be smaller than taking 6 and actually doing your work in a timely manner will decrease build up. In terms of interesting programs Abington is filled of them. One program known as A.C.U.R.A is a program where as an undergraduate you have the ability to do research with professors in you field of interest.

College Life

There is an abundance of clubs and organizations to join like at any college campus. All of which are filled with inviting kind people. As I already stated the diverse people who go to the campus are incredibly kind and accepting, so it is easy to find people to connect with or not if you are not interested in making friends.
