About TCU
Texas Christian University is a private school with an emphasis on the individual. The school strives to teach adaptability through critical thinking and creativity, so that its students will be prepared for whatever may lie in the future.
To help meet this goal, TCU offers a wide range of academics. There are over 200 programs of study, from undergraduate through doctoral levels, administered through eight schools and colleges. TCU also offers the unique one-year Ranch Management program.
Eligible students can apply for any number of extensive financial aid opportunities. Texas Christian University offers institutional scholarships based on academic, athletic or artistic achievement, as well as special interests like leadership and ethnic heritage. The school also participates in need-based state and federal programs, which require completion of the FAFSA.
With more than 200 student clubs and organizations, Texas Christian provides plenty of ways to get involved on campus. An essential component of student life at TCU is athletics. The Horned Frogs have emerged as an NCAA Division I football powerhouse. Formerly in the Mountain West Conference, TCU accepted an invitation to join the Big 12 Conference in October of 2011.
