About University of Wisconsin, Waukesha

University of Wisconsin – Waukesha offers students the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. After students obtain their two-year Waukesha degree, they may then transfer to any UW campus for their bachelor’s studies. The Waukesha campus also offers an accelerated degree for adult students.

While Waukesha is the largest of all the UW campuses, it offers an intimate learning environment where small classes are the norm. University of Wisconsin awards associate’s degrees in such areas of study as:

  • Anthropology
  • Business
  • Computer Science
  • Education
  • Literature
  • Pre-Nursing
  • Psychology

Waukesha also offers an accelerated degree for adults. Those in the accelerated program attend a combination of online and evening classes. After earning their associate’s degree and transferring to another UW campus, adults may continue on the accelerated track and receive their bachelor’s degree in a shortened amount of time.

Adult learners also have access to many student services that help them to re-adjust to school. These include academic counseling, career advising and childcare.

Admissions requirements for traditional first-year students include ACT or SAT scores and a high school diploma or GED. Those who are at least 22 years old do not need to submit test scores.

UW Waukesha awards academic scholarships. Most scholarships require that applicants have a GPA of at least 2.5, and an ACT score of at least 19. Additional financial aid awards include need-based loans and grants.
