About QU

Quincy University is a small, Catholic college in Quincy, Illinois, that emphasizes hands-on learning and outside projects. Quincy is also a place where students can expect to make lifelong friends through religious and other activities.

Quincy University has more than five distinctive academic divisions. These include:

  • The School of Education
  • The Division of Fine Arts and Communication
  • The Division of Humanities
  • The School of Business

Classes are small and classroom discussions are a substantial part of the learning experience. Outside of class, students also learn through such activities as lab research, internships and field trips.

Spiritual activities are also an important part of student life. Students may participate in religious services, campus ministry, service organizations and other religious activities.

When evaluating applicants, Quincy University evaluates GPA and the rigor of one’s high school curriculum. SAT or ACT scores are also taken into consideration, but are not as important as one’s grades and high school curriculum.

Many Quincy University students receive some type of financial aid, including need-based awards like grants, loans and work-study money. Quincy University also awards scholarships based on academic performance. Students may receive a combination of scholarships and need-based aid.
