About WIT

If you’re looking for a college that offers strong academics without the high cost of a university, Western Iowa Tech Community College (WIT) might be the school for you. WIT has over 70 liberal arts, technical, and career programs available to meet the needs of students of all ages.

High school students looking to get a jump start on their college career can take classes (often on their high school campus) that provide them with high school and college credits. The “College Now” program comes with no cost for tuition or books, and students who earn at least a “C” in these courses may qualify for a $500 scholarship to Western Iowa Tech.

Nearly 1/3 of the students at WIT are adult learners seeking career training. The school offers both short-term training to enhance your skillset for a current job or promotion as well as full credit degree programs to start a new career.

In addition to offering traditional on-campus classes, WIT also offers online and hybrid (combination of live and online) classes to help students fit their education into their busy schedules.

The majority of WIT students are high school graduates seeking to earn their two-year degree. Many transfer to a four-year school after enjoying the savings and small school atmosphere of WIT.

Students of all ages should complete a FAFSA and speak to an admissions representative to determine if they are eligible for financial aid to assist with the cost of tuition.
