How to Remove Stains from Clothing & Stain Removal Tips » Stain Removal : Tips to remove stains in the summerSummers tend to be fun and messsy. Along with plenty of outdoor activities and parties, come the stains that threaten to spoil your clothes and dampen your summer spirit.

But there is no need to worry. For here are some of the best remedies that can work wonders on stained clothes, leaving them spotless and sparkling.

Ketchup: The most common forms of stains that occur in the summer season tend to be due to ketchup or barbeque sauce spills. These when left to dry can almost become unremovable and destroy a perfectly beautiful dress or fabric.

An effective way to remove a ketchup or sauce stain is to rinse the stained fabric with cold, running water immediately. Mix 1 part of laundry detergent with 8 parts of cold water and soak the dress in the mix for about 15 minutes.

After soaking, wash the stained area with a detergent soap and rinse with cold water again. If you still see the stain, soak the dress in white vinegar for about 15 minutes. You can remove the stain completely.

Ice Cream: Summers tend to be the days when your icecream melts away before you can eat it fully. Ice cream stains are very common during the summer season and you cannot stop your children from eating ice cream for fear of them staining their dresses.

Here’s a fool proof plan to remove sticky ice cream stains from dresses. Soak the dress immediately in luke warm water for about 15 minutes after which you can remove the stain with a stain stick.

If you still see the stain, soak the clothing again in cold water for about half an hour and apply the stain stick again. In both cases, after applying the stain stick, you can wash the dress normally and hang it out to dry.

Soda: Did you accidentally spill some soda on that beautiful dress you just bought at Tiffany’s? Not to worry! Make sure to soak the dress in cold water immediately. Wait for half an hour and then apply a stain stick to the stained area. After doing so, you can wash the dress normally.

Mustard: Mustard stains are sticky and dry quickly, making it very hard to remove them. These stains can be removed by vinegar. However, you need to first ascertain whether the stained fabric is able to tolerate the versatile liquid.

What you can possibly do is apply a small amount of vinegar to a small corner of the fabric to see if it shows any adverse effects. If the fabric shows signs of toleration, go ahead and soak it in vinegar for about 15 minutes. After this, wash the dress with a suitable detergent and rinse with cold water.

If the fabric does not tolerate vinegar, opt to use a stain stick instead and wash the dress with a suitable detergent afterwards.

Grease: Many people think that grease stains can be hardest to remove. However, the truth is that these stains can be easily removed by using just a dishwashing detergent. If you have a dishwashing detergent in your house, apply some of it directly over the stain and rub it in.

Rinse the stained area with hot water and keep repeating the same procedure until the stain vanishes.
