What can be better than low-fat pizza for dinner? Sounds good, doesn’t it? Just imagine eating pizza and still staying in shape? Wow! It may be hard to believe, but it’s true. You eat it and you’re sure to say, ‘It’s pizzalicious.’Low-Fat Pizza Recipe

For pizza base

Dried yeast  – 1 ½ tspn
Sugar – 1 tspn
Whole meal flour – 1 ½ cups
Soya flour – 2 tbspns
Olive oil – 1 tbspn
Wheat bran – 2 tbspn

For sauce

Tomatoes – 4 medium size
Chopped onion – 1 small size
Garlic – 4-5 cloves
Fresh basil – 2-3 leaves
Olive oil – 2 tbspns
Crushed dried red chillies – 1 tspn
Salt to taste

For topping

Mushroom – 10
Sliced capsicum – 1 medium
thin slices of tomatoes – 2 medium sized
Chopped onion – 1 medium sized
Low fat Mozzarella cheese – ½ cup
Oregano (dried) – ½ tspn

Method

Mix yeast with sugar and one teaspoon warm water and leave aside until frothy. Now, add frothy yeast to a mixture of whole meal and soya flour. Add salt, olive oil and wheat bran. Add water and knead into soft dough. Leave the dough covered with a damp cloth in a warm place for about forty five minutes or until the dough is nearly about double in volume.Now, divide pizza dough into four, roll out each portion into medium thick disc.

Then prick them with a fork all over. Then, preheat your oven to about 220 degree Celsius.For the sauce, wash and chop tomatoes finely. Then, peel and chop onion and garlic and wash and tear basil leaves into small pieces.Next, heat olive oil in a pan, add chopped onion and garlic, stir-fry briefly and add chopped tomatoes. Add one cup of water to it and bring it to a boil. Now, stir in the basil leaves, salt and crushed dried red chillies.

Simmer for about five minutes on medium heat or till it reaches thick dropping consistency.Now, for pizza topping, wash mushrooms, pat them dry and slice. Wash capsicum, halve to deseed and then cut into thin stripes.Wash and cut tomatoes to quarter and cut into thin strips. Then, peel and slice onion. Grate the cheese.
Then spread prepared pizza sauce on rolled pizza base, top it with sliced onion, sliced mushrooms, tomato and capsicum strips. Finally sprinkle grated cheese to evenly cover the pizza top. Crush dried oregano leaves and sprinkle on the pizza.
