Sucre: Mainly considered as the ‘winter capital’ of Bolivia, Sucre is also known as ‘the city of four names’. The name of the city has been changed at four times. The first name of the city was La Plata when it was founded by Pedro de Anzures, Marques de Campo Redondo on the 30th November 1538. Later its name became Charcas and then Ciudad Blanca. Ciudad Blanca means the ‘white city’. The town was named Sucre in the honour Mariscal Antonio Jose de Sucre. He accompanied Simon Bolivar for the independence of the country from Spanish rule. On 13th December 1991 this city is marked as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO.Museums in Sucre
