Vitamin B is a complex of eight different vitamins and all of which are water soluble. They are usually called as B complex vitamins. B complex vitamins are necessary for increasing the rate of metabolism and is also essential for maintaining healthy skin. It also aids in fortifying the immune system, nervous system and helps in toning the muscles. Foods rich in vitamin B includes cabbage, turnip, seaweed, carrots, tomatoes, celery, onion, radish, corn flakes, all bran, beef, milk, salmon, cheese, yeast, turkey, trout, pepper, banana, tofu etc. The following recipes may help you to add vitamin B to your diet.

Tofu Egg Salad

This recipe is rich in vitamin B especially vitamin B 6 and B 12.

Take a large bowl and to this add quarter cup of finely chopped celery, quarter cup of finely chopped onion, three tablespoon of chopped dill pickle, one tablespoon of yellow mustard, two tablespoon of mayonnaise, two tablespoon of drained capers and few drops of soy sauce. Mix the entire contents very well and then add pepper and salt to taste. Now squish twelve ounce of tofu in to the mixture and combine well. You can also add Tabasco sauce if required.

Banana Split Oatmeal

Cook half cup of dry oats in enough water to get a desired consistency. Then add quarter cup of sliced strawberries and quarter cup of sliced bananas to the oats. Add two tablespoon of peanuts and one tablespoon of semi sweet chocolate chips. Mix them well and it will make your breakfast rich with vitamin B.

Banana Cake

Take large bowl and in this mix two cups of whole wheat flour, two teaspoon baking soda, half teaspoon salt and one cup wheat germ. In another bowl mash two and a half cups of bananas and add half cup of sugar to the bananas. To the banana mixture add ¾ cups of soy milk and one teaspoon of vanilla extract. Now slowly mix the flour mixture with the banana mixture and add 13 cup of raisins.

Pre-heat the oven at a temperature of 350 degree. Get the baking pan and oil the surface with vegetable oil and spread the batter in to the pan. Bake the cake for 55 minutes.
