This recipe of cup cakes is quite simple and can be served as a tea time snack. For this you will need 5 ounces of margarine and one and a half ounces of icing sugar. Sift the icing sugar and blend the margarine and sugar together in a pan. Use an electric beater to mix. Mix till light and creamy.

In the same pan add 5 ounces of self raising flour and a pinch of salt. Beat again. Add some vanilla essence. It will become almost like a dough. Add a pinch of baking soda to it. It should not be of a dropping consistency. Put the mixture in to a piping bag. Now take small cup cake molds and put butter paper cups in to it and place them on a baking tray.

Take a piping bag and put a star nozzle on it;and starting from the centre make swirls of the cake mixture till you reach the edge of the cake mold. Shake the cake mold a bit so that the mixture levels.Bake them for half an hour at one hundred and eighty degrees Celsius.

Remove when done and cool on the wire rack. When cool put a dot of any flavored jam on the center or dust it with sifted icing sugar. This recipe of Vienna cup cakes can be made at your child’s birthday party in addition to a small cake that you would make for cutting.
